Frank Kratovil

"...Democrats believe they can swipe [Gilchrest's seat] next year. The party is staking its hopes on Queen Anne's County State's Attorney Frank M. Kratovil Jr., the strongest of four candidates vying for the Democratic nomination. It is also banking on a GOP primary that will leave the victor broke and bruised."

"Democratic candidate Frank Kratovil, the State's Attorney for Queen Anne's County, said he was focused on promoting a positive, issues-oriented message. 'Voters want to know how you are different,' said Kratovil, 39, a first-time candidate for U.S. Congress. For Kratovil, a Democrat running in a moderately conservative district, that means emphasizing his twelve-year-career as a prosecutor."

"The winner of the Republican primary could face Democrat Frank Kratovil who boasts the support of Governor O'Malley and former Governors Glendening and Hughes. 'This district tends to be more conservative so it's a tough district for a Democrat...One of the benefits I've had I think is being able to work with people across the aisle. I'm more interested in solving problems than I am in partisan politics, and I think most of the country is frustrated with what we see in Washington,' said Kratovil."

Victim Witness Program

An effective Victim Witness Program for Queen Anne’s County might not have come into existence without State’s Attorney Frank Kratovil’s leadership and Michelle Mayoral’s fresh ideas. Previous attempts to initiate this much needed program had failed, leaving traumatized victims and witnesses to fend for themselves within a judicial system that often left them confused and without guidance.
