Frank Kratovil Supporters Gather in Crisfield
State’s Attorney Hickman, Crisfield Mayor Purnell Endorse Kratovil for Congress

Supporters of Frank Kratovil’s candidacy for United States Congress gathered at the Crisfield home of Beverly and P.J. Purnell on Thursday, January 17.  The event was hosted by Purnell, Mayor of Crisfield, and Kristy Hickman, State’s Attorney for Somerset County.  About 40 supporters attended the event where the Democratic candidate spoke and took questions.

Hickman and Purnell both encouraged supporters to help turn out primary voters for Frank Kratovil, who is the two-term State’s Attorney for Queen Anne’s County, where Kratovil, 39, resides with his wife Kimberly and their four sons.

“As a fellow State’s Attorney, Frank Kratovil knows how important fairness and justice are at all levels of government,” Kristy Hickman said. “I know that he will bring those qualities back to Washington.”

Mayor Purnell echoed that sentiment and added, “It is so easy for the problems of the Lower Shore to be overlooked by politicians in Annapolis and Washington.  I know that Frank Kratovil will make sure that our voices are heard and listened to.”

The endorsements of State’s Attorney Hickman and Mayor Purnell add to an impressive list of endorsements from state, county, and municipal leaders who share the belief that Kratovil is the best candidate to represent the First District in Washington. Frank Kratovil has also been endorsed by the Maryland/DC AFL-CIO, the National Education Association Fund for Children and Public Education, and the Maryland State Teachers Association.

“I am honored by State’s Attorney Hickman’s and Mayor Purnell’s support for my campaign to bring change in Washington, starting with restoring fiscal responsibility, promoting economic recovery, and responsibly ending the war in Iraq, so that we can focus on priorities of affordable health care, energy independence, improving the Chesapeake Bay, and adopting immigration reform that promotes lawful immigration, increases border security, and improves workplace enforcement,” Frank Kratovil said.
